Big Sean - I Decided
I will admit that the majority of the time i've thought that Big Sean's biggest records were kind of corny. You know songs like 'Mula', 'Dance' aka 'Ass, ass, ass', and even his recent track 'Bounce Back'. They just don't move me. Well I liked 'Dance' for other reasons like how the ratchets would always put that work on ya if it came on in the club, but other than that his songs are ehh. I feel like Big Sean has good records but his features and production outshine him. This is probably why Kanye drops his verses on songs they have together. The concept of 'I Decided' is a reflection of what I just described. The album starts off soulful but then here comes 'Bounce Back', which sounds like a demo track. It's funny because Big Sean himself said it was a throwaway song. The album continues and you realize you've heard quite a few songs on the project, but you most likely thought it was someone elses because they remixed it and made it sound better. The album feels, for lack of a better word, incomplete. Songs seem to cut off before you can feel them out and he just all in all gets outshined by the production quality. Big Sean makes multiple references to his family, especially his moms and grandma, so it feels like an album dedicated to them. He repeatedly thanks his fam for letting him find his own path and reaping the rewards of this music game. I'm sure Big Sean mega fans will love this project but for the general public, it leaves you unsatisfied. But hey the beats are pretty good. Listen and let me know if i'm being to harsh. I won't be spending any money on this project tho. Keep growing Big Sean. Detailed track info provided below.
