Gunplay - The Plug

A couple questions come to mind when you think of Gunplay's newest project 'The Plug'; why isn't this album released under Maybach Music and who did the cover art? I am really feelin the cover to this album and extremely happy that Gunplay chose to keep his Hip Hop moniker and not go with Don Logan. The Carol City artist chose the perfect title for this album. There are so many references to Madam Cocaina that I started feelin like a dope boy. This is one of the realest albums of the year so far. Although it only has 11 tracks, Gunplay spits enough bars to make it feel like a complete project, plus who really wants to hear 15 or 16 songs bout bein the 'plug.' His past radio station interviews are featured on the album which allows for a brief comedic break from the real life powder tales he spits on every track. If you've listened to Don Logan's music before and heard the track 'Bible on the Dash'...this album is a reflection of that. I like for artists to spit about their life and what they know while showing off lyrical capabilities, and Gunplay definitely does that on this album. This is Gunplay's sound and I hope he continues to build off of it for future projects. One criticism I have is that the album features no Dade County artists and I'm all about Florida bein represented in some fashion or another. If you want that real life rap bout dat white bitch in da trap go spend some paper on ya boy, yeeeuh digg??!!
